Fix buffering

Most stalls are the last mile, the player buffer, or a 4K feed on a weak stick.

Check the easy things first

If every other stream in the house is fine and only one event stalls, that is contribution load on a popular fixture. Wait two minutes or try the backup feed if your player lists one.

  1. Run a speed test on the same Wi-Fi as the stick. HD wants a steady 15 Mbps; 4K wants more.
  2. Move the stick to Ethernet or a 5 GHz SSID. 2.4 GHz through two walls is the usual culprit.
  3. In the player, raise the buffer / network cache (TiviMate: Settings → Playback).
  4. Switch the channel from 4K to the HD variant of the same service if both exist.
  5. Reboot the stick, then the router — in that order.

When to write to us

If the whole guide is empty, or every category stalls at once, open a ticket with the username (never the password) and the time it started. Support and technical admins see that inbox.
